SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz got into another scuffle in Thursday night's win over the Suns, which led to Ricky Rubio's injury, two $25,000 fines aimed at the Suns, and David Stockton's 10-day contract with the club his legendary father called home for 20 years.
But it wasn't the first kerfuffle in Jazz history.
Here are some of the most memorable altercations from Utah's NBA history.
1. Karl Malone vs. Isiah Thomas
Isiah Thomas called his altercation with Karl Malone that gave him 40 stitches the "dirtiest play I've ever experienced in my life," he recounted to NBC Sports.
Exaggerated or not, the benches cleared and Pistons head coach Chuck Daley was so angry, he went after Malone.
Thomas missed two games and Malone was fined $10,000 with a one-game suspension for the minor brawl.
2. Jeff Hornacek vs. Jerry Stackhouse
Sixers rookie Jerry Stackhouse was suspended two games and fined $7,500 for punching the pure Jazz shooter in 1996.
Hornacek, kicked out of the game for some reason, saying afterward, "I played in Philadelphia for a year and a half; I know that frustration mounts."
3. Karl Malone vs. Greg Ballard
Malone and Greg Ballard went after each other at the end of game 2 of a playoff series in 1987.
Malone hurled a ball — and then things got crazy. Even a few fans got involved.
The Jazz went on to lose three-straight games after the incident, and Mark Eaton says it cost Utah the series.

4. Jerry Sloan vs. Courtney Kirkland
Few in the NBA ever messed with the Jazz coaching legend, as Kenyon Martin remembers well.
Courtney Kirkland found out why — the hard way — when the NBA official and Sloan got into an altercation that resulted in the coach's suspension for seven games after a shoving match in 2003.
5. Larry Miller vs. Nuggets fans
Jazz players and coaches weren't the only ones who took heat during the NBA franchise's time in Salt Lake City.
Remember when late owner Larry Miller had enough with a group of heckling Denver Nuggets fans during the 1994 playoffs? Miller tried to shut them up, and we are pretty sure those fans never tried anything again.
