SALT LAKE CITY — The NCAA Tournament is upon us and day one proved why March is truly the greatest time of the year. Less than one percent of brackets are still perfect, so here’s a look at some of the top highlights from the first day of madness.

This tweet basically sums up how a majority of people feel about their brackets right now.

Fame rose for the Gonzaga fan who was seen saying “thank you Father” after Gonzagas Norvell Jr. hit a three to give the Zags the lead with 20.8 seconds left to play. This lady became the newest meme to hit the internet.

But the March Madness hero became Loyola-Chicago's 98-year-old fan: Sister Jean.

With Oklahoma’s loss in the first round, the Trae Young era is dead ... for now.

Rhode Island became a new favorite as they took down Oklahoma in style.

Gonzaga escaped UNC Greensboro in a nail-biter finish. The game was a close call for many brackets. The Zags couldn’t hit any free throws down the stretch but a clutch three from Zach Norvell Jr. hit a clutch three to win the game.

Aside from the nail-biter Gonzaga game, the camera angle stole most of the fans' attention, and not in a good way as many fans complained about the angle.

Loyola-Chicago was the first upset of the tournament as they took down Miami with a clutch three in the final seconds of the game.

The biggest upset, though, was Buffalo destroying higher-seeded Arizona. It’s March, and you never know who’s going to show up, but Buffalo proved they came to play.

And of course, people were roasting Arizona pretty hard because of their alleged recruiting scandal.

Tennessee, Ohio State, Seton Hall, Villanova, Kentucky, Texas Tech, Houston, Alabama, Florida, and Michigan all survived and advanced to the second round. We will see what day two has in store for the Twitter world. Lexi Lewis is studying public relations at Utah Valley University. You can follow her on twitter @lex_lew1018.
