CHESTER'S HOUSE — There are movies that define generations and become cinematic staples — films like "Citizen Kane," "On the Waterfront," "Easy Rider" and "Wall Street."

Thankfully, there's a movie in the works at Fox Searchlight that will define this generation: The Flamin' Hot Cheetos movie.

I'm joking here, but the truth is this movie has the potential to be really great.

At first glance, you might think it's going to be a movie about Chester Cheetah creating a Flamin' Hot Cheeto that's so hot it can be used as a weapon to destroy humanity or something. Maybe the Cheeto falls into the wrong hands, and now Chester needs to get the snack back and save the free world while delighting tastebuds along the way.

But it turns out this movie, titled "Flamin' Hot," will be nothing like that. Instead, it will tell the inspirational true story of how the insanely popular snack came to be.

Richard Montanez, a janitor at Frito-Lay, came up with the idea for the snack, which turned into a huge success and took him from janitor to high-level executive, according to Variety.

Montanez is the son of an immigrant and grew up as a migrant farm worker in Southern California. He came up with the idea of the spicy snack food and created a billion-dollar franchise.

Several different movie studios were competing to land the rights to Montanez's story, but Fox Searchlight won out, according to Variety.

The film will tell the story of Montanez's meteoric rise up the corporate ladder. Writer Lewis Colick will pen the script. His other writing credits include "October Sky" and "Ladder 49."
