PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Ryan Richardson scored eight of his 27 points in overtime and Weber State defeated Portland State 95-86 on Thursday night for its eighth straight win.
Richardson scored eight straight Wildcat points in the extra session, his jumper and 3-point play starting a 10-0 run for a 91-83 lead with 33 seconds left.
Weber State (18-7, 11-2 Big Sky Conference) closed regulation on a 6-0 run with Richardson's layup with 33.5 seconds remaining tying the game at 77.
Portland State (15-11, 5-8) missed its last three shots in regulation and last four in OT.
Jerrick Harding added 21 points for the Wildcats and Brekkott Chapman had 19. Richardson was 10-of-14 shooting, including 6 of 9 from 3. Weber State shot 56 percent, going 12 of 24 behind the arc, and was 17 of 22 from the line.
Brandon Hollins had 22 points with 11 rebounds and Bryce Canda scored 20 for PSU. The Vikings had a 42-29 rebounding advantage but shot 44 percent and were 6 of 7 at the line.
