SANDY — The kits are in.
Utah Royals FC, the pro women's soccer franchise owned and operated by Real Salt Lake, unveiled its 2018 jerseys Monday morning, complete with a three-year deal sponsored by Logan-based Conservice.
The uniforms, which are made by National Women's Soccer League-sponsor Nike, will have two designs. The club will wear a "Victory Gold" primary kit and a clean white jersey alternate for the 2018 season.
Fans can buy the white jersey at any RSL team store beginning Feb. 15, while the gold primary kit is scheduled for a March release.
The Royals' white road kits feature a black Conservice logo across the chest, with a Royals FC badge that includes the "lioness" logo and an image of Utah's Delicate Arch over the heart, as well as patches for the NWSL and league sponsor Lifetime television on either sleeve.
The deal with Conservice sets a record for largest sponsorship in North American pro women's sports history, according to Royals owner Dell Loy Hansen. It's valued at $2 million over the length of the deal, according to Sports Business Daily.
"The Conservice vision for our partnership aligns perfectly with our aspirations to build the world’s best women’s professional sports organization worldwide," the Logan native said in a statement from the club. "We are grateful that Conservice recognizes the opportunity that the arrival of Utah Royals FC represents for fans across our region and are excited to deepen their involvement in soccer."
The company also features its nickname — "the utility experts" — in black lettering on the back of the jersey, underneath the player numbers.
Further details of the primary gold jersey will be released at a later day, likely by the Feb. 15 selling launch.
Conservice, founded in August 2000 by current CEO David Jenkins, is the largest full-service utility management company in North America that boasts 1,600 employees. The group provides utility management, billing and other services to more than 3 million addresses in the United States and internationally.
"Many of our team members are soccer fans and can’t wait to help promote women’s soccer here in Utah," Conservice COO Aimee Cox said in a statement. "I am proud to be part of a company that does so much for women in the workforce and now in women’s soccer. Conservice is known for making an impact everywhere it does business. We are excited about this new partnership with Utah Royals FC. We look forward to the club’s success on the field and the positive impact I’m sure they will have in our communities."
The Royals open play in the nine-team NWSL at home March 24, with 24 regular-season games split evenly home-and-away. All games will be broadcast via Lifetime, or on the Verizon-owned Go90 streaming app.
Among the Royals' inaugural roster, which currently sits at 14 announced players, are U.S. women's national team defender Becky Sauerbrunn and forward Kelley O'Hara, Canadian international standout Desiree Scott, and former BYU defender Taylor Campbell Isom, who prepped at nearby Alta High School.
