SALT LAKE CITY — All lanes of traffic have reopened on westbound I-80 at the I-215 west belt ramps after multiple vehicles crashed and at least one rolled off the freeway onto a nearby grassy field Monday morning.

Authorities worked to move cars from the left side of the freeway to the right side after the crash, according to the KSL Traffic Center. The freeway was reopened about 15 to 20 minutes after the crash.

It is still unknown what caused the crashes, but fog and snow significantly decreased visibility. Commuters have been texting the KSL Traffic Center to report an exceptionally icy roadway. Commuters should drive with caution.
