BURLEY, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in south-central Idaho are investigating after construction workers found human bones.

Jerome County Sheriff Doug McFall tells The Times-News in a story on Friday that a worker preparing an excavation site found the bones within the last several days.

McFall is releasing few details, saying he's concerned people could go to the area and contaminate the scene.

He says it's not clear if the remains are male or female.

He says his agency is working with the Jerome County coroner, authorities in Ada County and experts at Boise State University to identify the remains.
