SALT LAKE CITY — It’s been a dark October for FBS college football teams in the state of Utah.

The three FBS schools moved to 0-6 this month with a weekend that saw Utah lose at Southern California, Utah State drop a crucial Mountain West contest to Wyoming, and BYU lose its sixth-straight game on the road at Mississippi State.

So what can be done?

Former Utah defensive lineman Christian Cox and former BYU linebacker David Nixon don’t have all the answers — but they did stop by the SportsBeat studios to break down the Utes’ loss on a controversial two-point conversion and what can be done for the Cougars to right the ship and earn bowl eligibility for the 13th-straight year.

Click the videos above for the complete breakdown, and stick around to see highlights of Southern Utah’s upset of FCS No. 16 Weber State, as well.
