THE WEST COAST — And then there were two.

After Week 6, the Pac-12 South is wiped clean of undefeated teams. Only the North’s Washington and Washington State have perfect records.

Here’s a look at how the league did while Arizona State (3-2, 1-1 Pac-12) and UCLA (3-2, 1-1) were on byes.

Arizona (3-2, 1-1) at Colorado (3-3, 0-3)

Score: Arizona 45, Colorado 42

Game recap: After Arizona quarterback Brandon Dawkins left the game following a late hit out-of-bounds on the sidelines, the Wildcats relied on backup Khalil Tate. The change wasn’t an issue as Tate put together three scoring drives to put Arizona up 21-14 at the half. Colorado evened the score at 7 and 14 in the first half but couldn’t keep up after intermission.

Key stat: Tate rushed for 327 yards, an FBS record by a quarterback, with touchdown runs of 58, 28, 47 and 75 yards.

Conference implication: Even with Dawkins healthy, Tate now has an edge for the Arizona starting quarterback job. If they keep up these types of performances, the Wildcats will be in the mix for the South.

Colorado is its own worst enemy. The Buffs have yet to get a conference win. They committed 12 penalties for 110 yards that included two late hits. It’s a reach for them to repeat as division champions.

Next opponent: Arizona hosts UCLA on Saturday. Colorado travels to Oregon State on Saturday.

California (3-3, 0-3) at Washington (6-0, 3-0)

Score: Washington 38, California 7

Game recap: Saturday night in Seattle featured the Huskies annihilating the Bears. At halftime, Washington led 24-0. Things slowed down for Washington in the second half with just two touchdowns, but California couldn’t get past the Huskies’ defense. The Bears’ only score came at the end of the third quarter with the game long in Washington’s favor.

Key stat: Cal was held to just 93 total yards.

Conference implication: The Huskies are undefeated and doing well. Downfield passing is something they’ll need to work on in practice. Freshman tight end Hunter Bryant was the receiving star against Cal with nine catches for 121 yards. Without him, Washington had just four passes of 10 plays or more — none longer than 13.

Cal’s tough schedule is showing. The Bears’ season looked promising with a 3-0 start, but they’ve dropped three-straight games against USC, Oregon and Washington. Up next is another brutal matchup with undefeated Washington State.

Next opponent: Washington travels to Arizona State on Saturday. California hosts Washington State on Friday.

Oregon State (1-5, 0-3) at USC (5-1, 3-1)

Score: USC 38, Oregon State 10

Game recap: USC was never threatened by Oregon State as the Trojans got off to a quick 14-0 lead in the middle of the first quarter. The Beavers put together an eight-play drive that ended with a field goal before half. By then, the Trojans were up 25 points and it was too difficult for the Beavers to play catchup.

Key stat: The Trojans had four fumbles, two of them were lost, and quarterback Sam Darnold had one interception.

Conference implication: USC’s offense is inconsistent. While Darnold is putting up decent numbers, injuries are hindering the Trojans. They’ll need to fine-tune themselves in practice in preparation for a South showdown against Utah.

Oregon State was supposed to improve this season under third-year head coach Gary Andersen. Instead, the Beavers are continuing to struggle and a conference win isn’t looking promising.

Next opponent: USC hosts Utah on Saturday. Oregon State hosts Colorado on Saturday.

Stanford (4-2, 3-1) at Utah (4-1, 1-1)

Score: Stanford 23, Utah 20

Game recap: Stanford spoiled Utah’s perfect record on the Utes’ homecoming night. The game was close throughout with the Cardinal’s biggest lead being 10 points. Utah rallied late in the fourth quarter with a drive that included a long pass and two targeting calls against Stanford. The Utes came within three points, but their onside kick was foiled when the Cardinal recovered.

Key stat: Utah’s top-ranked rushing defense held Bryce Love to a season-low 152 yards on 20 carries.

Conference implication: Stanford is on the rise after losing two games in September. It trails the undefeated Washington schools but only by one conference loss.

Utah isn’t as dynamic without quarterback Tyler Huntley. Every South team has at least one loss, so the division is up for grabs. The Utes’ next game against USC is a must-win as it can decide the division winner later in the season.

Next opponent: Stanford hosts Oregon on Saturday. Utah travels to USC on Saturday.

Washington State (6-0, 3-0) at Oregon (4-2, 1-2)

Score: Washington State 33, Oregon 10

Game recap: Oregon led 10-7 at the end of the first quarter thanks to two drives that started in Washington State territory, but it’d be the only time the Ducks would lead. Washington State held Oregon scoreless for the rest of the game while it pounded 26 more points on the scoreboard to seal the win and stay unbeaten.

Key stat: Washington State’s defense held Oregon to just 87 rushing yards.

Conference implication: Washington State finally left the comfort of home and played its first road game of the season. The Cougars look good as ever and will play on the road again in their next game. In-state rival Washington is their fiercest competition as the Huskies also have a perfect record.

Oregon is suffering from injuries all over the board, hindering the Ducks’ play. The Ducks have more tough competition on their schedule, so it’s time to fix the details this week in practice.

Next opponent: Washington State travels to Cal on Friday. Oregon travels to Stanford on Saturday.
