SALT LAKE CITY — Following a close loss to Stanford Saturday, the University of Utah dropped in the national rankings.
Utah dropped out of the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and to No. 23 in the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll, dropping five places from No. 18 in the Coaches Poll and No. 20 in the AP Poll the last week.
The Utes are one of five teams from the Pac-12 ranked in the Coaches Poll this week, with Washington moving up to No. 4 in the Coaches Poll and No. 5 in the AP Poll following an Oklahoma loss over the weekend. Behind the Huskies is No. 8/9 Washington State, No. 13/13 USC, No. 23 Utah and No. 23/25 Stanford. No other team from the Pac-12 is receiving votes in the poll.
The AP Poll remains with Alabama at the No. 1 spot, followed by No. 2 Clemson, No. 3 Penn State, No. 4 Georgia and No. 5 Washington. The Coaches Poll has Washington at No. 4 Washington and Georgia at No. 5.
