Herriman first-graders start program to help Texas flood victims

Hazel C.

"Two first-grade students of Providence Hall Elementary had their heart touched by (a) family that lost everything in Texas, and have started a project to help them out. They reached out to their classmates and community to help donate clothing, diapers and school supplies. They have a big goal they want to reach and have even bigger hearts to get to get it all done. These two little girls can't wait to see what donations come in as their classmates and school are on fire with excitement to help."

Dar W.

"My mom's cancer is back — she was given about six months to live, but she is fighting with chemo and radiation and maybe even immunotherapy. She has made a quilt for each child and grandchild and most of her great-grandchildren. Each quilt has a title and song or story that goes with it. She is having a quilt show and giving them to her family."

Salt Lake missionaries volunteer at Hydrocephalus Walk

Deanne L.

"A lot has been said in the news about the service given by the LDS missionaries in the areas of Texas and Florida where the hurricanes have hit. I love how the missionaries take the opportunity to serve in every way throughout the world. I want to send a shoutout and recognize a wonderful group of missionaries from the (Utah Salt Lake City East Mission) in the Murray area. They came to Murray Park on Sept. 16, to be volunteers at the 10th annual Hydrocephalus Walk. Their help, presence and enthusiasm added so much to the great cause! Thanks again sisters and elders!"
