SALT LAKE CITY — It’s Week 3 of the college football season, and No. 23 Utah is 3-0 after a blowout win over San Jose State, rival BYU is reeling with a 1-3 start after a 40-6 loss to No. 10 Wisconsin, and Utah State is 1-2 without a win over an FBS opponent.

Former Utah defensive lineman Christian Cox and BYU alum David Nixon break down the Utes’ latest win over the Spartans, which included a breakout offensive performance from sophomore quarterback Tyler Huntley and three touchdown catches from Oregon transfer Darren Carrington II, as well as a host of promising plays from the defensive line.

The guys then turn their attention to Provo, where the Cougars had arguably their worst overall performance of the year in a blowout loss to a big team from the Big Ten. Badgers quarterback Alex Hornibrook sliced the Cougar defense for 256 yards and four touchdowns, and BYU failed to slow down freshman standout Jonathan Taylor at tailback with 128 yards and a touchdown.

In other highlights, the Aggies were routed on the road by Wake Forest, while Weber State held off Sacramento State and Southern Utah upset No. 18 Northern Iowa by a field goal.
