BURIED IN A BLIZZARD — If you thought sports stopped after the Super Bowl, NCAA men’s basketball tournament, and a flurry of national championship games, you were sorely mistaken.

Especially this weekend.

Here are some of our favorite moments from the weekend, starting with a playful snowball fight by Real Salt Lake.

Snowball fight at Rio Tinto Stadium

If you haven’t heard, Real Salt Lake picked up its first win of the season 3-0 over Vancouver in Mike Petke’s official debut as head coach.

What you’ve also likely heard is that the game was played in a second-half blizzard that circled Sandy.

RSL midfielder Luis Silva, who recently returned from Tigres in Mexico’s Liga MX, had a little fun after he slipped and fell while going for goal. Watch him not-so-intentionally start a minor snowball fight with a Whitecaps defender in an otherwise forgettable night for the Canadian side.

How did he do that?

No offense to the ruggers in Utah, but rugby union isn’t the most popular sport in the United States.

If more players did what Dillyn Leyds did in this match between the Stormers and Chiefs, it might catch on more.

Watch Leyds’ ridiculous behind-the-back pass to teammate SP Marais for a try from this weekend.

A sprint down the full length of the field? A nice kick to set up the try? And a behind-the-back pass that should be credited as an assist?

Yeah, we could get used to rugby.

Did I do that?

Russell Henley didn’t win the Masters on Sunday; that honor went to Sergio Garcia in the first major win in 74 tries.

But he won the Internet with an eagle on his approach shot on the par-4 fifth hole.
