THE BASKETBALL COURT — Expecting a baby is the most exciting announcement a couple could make. And over the past few years, we’ve seen couples get creative with gender reveals.

From mystery cakes to exploding boxes, to hitting a few golf balls toward the fairway, there are many different ways to tell the world if you’re expecting a baby girl or boy.

Just make sure you’re doing the gender reveal safely and not accidently start a wildfire.

So what’s a new and fun way to announce the gender of your baby? How about getting the projected No. 1 pick in the upcoming NBA draft to help via a slam dunk, of course.

In this video, Nolan Elingburg and his wife Danielle announce they are expecting.

Nolan Elingburg, an associate director at Duke University’s Blue Devil Network, and his wife could have found a typical manner of announcing their big news to their family. But if you’re able to get Duke men’s basketball power forward Zion Williamson, college basketball’s National Player of the Year and Karl Malone Award winner, to help you with the gender reveal, you do it.

“So, now we just need to find out if it’s a boy or a girl,” Nolan Elingburg says in the video. “So, Zion, take it from here!”

The camera then turns to Williamson, who has a balloon basketball in hand. Zion steps up, jumps and, to the tune of The Beatles’ “Hey Jude,” the 6-foot-7, 280-pounder slams it down, causing the balloon to explode and reveal blue confetti.

It’ll be a boy coming to the Elingburg family!

Family and friends happily cheer as the happy couple hug in celebration. The balloon popped just like Williamson’s shoe did during a game a few weeks ago.

Congrats to the Elingburgs! I’m sure when their little boy grows up, he’ll tell everyone that a (future) No. 1 NBA draft pick and future multimillionaire helped his folks announce that he was on his way into this world.

Oh, and I’m sure the kid will grow up to be a Duke fan, too.
