CEDAR CITY — The funeral for Fred C. Adams, founder of the Utah Shakespeare Festival, will be held Friday.

Adams died February 6 at age 89 following a long battle with cancer. His funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the Randall L. Jones Theatre in Cedar City, his hometown.

Two viewings also were held, on Thursday night and Friday morning.

Southern Utah University will be broadcasting Adams’ funeral on its YouTube channel. Attendees were asked to wear something with “a little sparkle.” Adams had asked people to donate to the Shakespeare Festival instead of purchasing flowers for the funeral.
