SALT LAKE CITY — The first step of Bojan Bogdanovic's recovery occurred on Tuesday.
Bogdanovic underwent successful surgery Tuesday in New York City to repair a ruptured scapholunate ligament in his right wrist, the Utah Jazz announced. The procedure was performed by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Michelle Carlson.
There is no timeline for Bogdanovic's return.
"Appreciate all the love, texts and support," Bogdanovic said in a tweet. "My surgery today was a success. I’m looking forward to get back on the court as soon as possible!"
Bogdanovic sustained the wrist injury sometime in 2019 and played through discomfort for much of the season. The team monitored the injury, but after numerous medical consultations, the decision was made to get surgery.
The NBA's current hiatus didn't play a role in that decision, the team said.
Bogdanovic ends his first year on the Jazz averaging 20.2 points on 41.4% shooting from 3-point range. He missed just one game before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Bogdanović will begin his rehabilitation at the "appropriate time," a press release stated. He will be out indefinitely.
