SALT LAKE CITY — Utah fans fared well in Week 8, sweeping the weekly prizes as well as landing the top spot for the best local fan base in KSL College Football Pick'em.

Aided largely by Utah's 52-7 win over Oregon State, Ute fans averaged 23.7 points per game, raising its season average to 21.9, the best out of the three local fan bases.

Utah State had a bye week, but its fans scored 23.1 points per game, which brought its average to 21.7.

The lone upset based on the majority of picks was BYU at South Florida, in which only 28 percent of participants guessed that the Bulls would beat the Cougars. The BYU fan base average was hurt by the head scratching loss, coming in third with 21.2 points and a season average of 20.3.

This week's first, second and third place winners will get $100, $70 and $40 Visa gift cards, respectively, courtesy of Peak Orthopaedics, which provides comprehensive joint care for the entire body from expert orthopaedic and sports medicine physicians. The overall first, second and third place winners will receive $500, $250 and $115, respectively. See KSL Pick'em for the tiebreaker rules.
