SALT LAKE CITY — The 2019 season is soon underway with Week 0 action kicking off Saturday. With that comes the release of the preseason Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

For the 2019 season, the Associated Press has asked me to be a voter for the poll.

That comes with a lot of responsibility to ensure I’m evaluating teams all over the country in a consistent manner. My human fallibility will be made evident at times, but I hope to limit "mistakes" while selecting the best teams in the country each week.

Data, statistics and game results will be a major guide for me this season, as will be the obvious eye test of watching the games.

The AP says voters shouldn't "hesitate to make significant changes in your ballot from week to week," such as jumping "a 16th-ranked team over the eighth-ranked team if No. 16 is coming off a big victory and No. 8 squeaked by an unranked team."

Each Sunday throughout the season I’ll post my ballot around 10 a.m. MT, except for the first poll which will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The full AP Poll will be released each Sunday at 12 p.m. MT. Check back each week for my latest ballot.
