DENVER (AP) — After a 99-point regular season, Calgary All-Star forward Johnny Gaudreau has been held to a single assist and just 12 shots against Colorado. It is a big reason why the top-seeded Flames trail the Avalanche 3-1 in a first-round series of the NHL playoffs that heads back to Calgary for Game 5 tonight. The Flames are on the brink of being knocked out in the first round, just like Tampa Bay, the top seed in the East.

BOSTON (AP) — The Bruins threw a wrinkle at the Maple Leafs by shuffling their lines in their 6-4 win Wednesday to tie the NHL playoff series at 2-2. That's just the sort of boost the team was hoping for with Game 5 today in Boston. Toronto coach Mike Babcock admits the Leafs made some mistakes and gave up some opportunities.

UNDATED (AP) — There's a trio of Game 3s in the NBA playoffs. Toronto at Orlando, Boston at Indiana and Portland at Oklahoma City all come with different story lines. The Magic got a split of their first two games with the Raptors, the Pacers are reeling after a late-game collapse in Game 2 left them trailing the Celtics 2-0, and the Thunder have seemed completely out of sorts as they've gotten into a 2-0 hole against the Blazers.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Off to the best start in major league baseball, Kevin Kiermaier (KEER'-my-ur) and the Tampa Bay Rays host the wobbling Red Sox. Boston is just 6-13, and a bad series at Tropicana Field could drop the defending World Series champions into a double-digit deficit.

NEW YORK (AP) — Yankees' CC Sabathia (suh-BATH'-ee-uh) takes a unique streak into tonight's matchup against Kansas City. The Yankees lefty is the only pitcher in big league history to have back-to-back starts in the regular season of at least five innings while allowing no walks and no more than one hit.
