UNDATED (AP) — A pasta company has announced there was a coronavirus outbreak at its Spokane factory as Washington state prepares to reopen parts of its economy. The Spokesman-Review reported that Philadelphia Macaroni Company Inc. said in a statement Friday that 72 workers were tested for COVID-19 and 24 were positive. Health officials say there was an increase in Spokane County with 31 new positive cases between Thursday and Friday. Company officials say all of the factory employees have since been tested and the facility was disinfected.

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Millions of Muslims in Indonesia are marking a muted and gloomy holiday of Eid al-Fitr, the end of the fasting month of Ramadan _ a usually joyous three-day celebration that has been significantly toned down as coronavirus cases soar. The world’s largest Muslim-majority nation, with more than 240 million people, has reported nearly 22,000 infections and 1,350 fatalities, the most in Southeast Asia. It means no congregational prayers at mosques and open fields, no family reunions, no relatives bearing gifts for children. In deeply conservative Aceh, Indonesia’s only province enforcing Islamic sharia law, public Eid prayers can still be performed at mosques and fields, but without shaking hands and with limited sermons.

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — The first of five tankers loaded with gasoline sent from Iran has reached Venezuelan waters. The ships' loads are expected to temporarily ease the South American nation’s fuel crunch while defying Trump administration sanctions targeting the two U.S. foes. The oil tanker Fortune encountered no immediate signs of U.S. interference late Saturday as it eased through the Caribbean. Venezuela’s foreign minister celebrated the gasoline delivery, saying Iran and Venezuela have always supported each other in times of difficulty. Washington says both nations are ruled by repressive regimes. The Trump administration has heavily sanctioned both nations.

HONOLULU (AP) — Joe Biden has won the presidential primary in Hawaii. The results were announced Saturday. The party-run primary was delayed by more than a month because of the coronavirus. In-person voting was canceled and additional ballots were sent out for an all-mail-in voting system. Biden received 63% of the votes and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders received 37%. Biden won 16 delegates and Sanders got eight. According to the count by the Associated Press, Biden has a total of 1,566 delegates to the party’s national convention. He needs 1,991 delegates to win the nomination, a threshold he is projected to reach in June.

STERLING, Va. (AP) — President Donald Trump played golf Saturday for the first time since he declared the coronavirus pandemic a national emergency more than two months ago. That move led to the shutdown of much of American society. His return to the course is one more sign that he wants the country back to pre-outbreak times, even as the U.S. death toll from the virus nears 100,000. That's twice what he once predicted it would be. The outing was Trump's first to any of the money-making properties he owns since March 8, when he visited his private golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
