SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Rep. John Knotwell has announced his resignation from the Utah Legislature at the end of September.
The Herriman Republican cited a demanding work and travel schedule as the reason for his departure in a prepared statement Wednesday.
According to his LinkedIn profile , he has worked for software company Nuvi since April.
House Speaker Brad Wilson wished Knotwell well and said his absence would be felt among Utah lawmakers in a statement.
During his six years in the Legislature Knotwell served on committees handling business and labor, criminal justice, law enforcement and other issues.
The Salt Lake County Republican Party will lead the process of choosing Knotwell's replacement.
