2 dead in auto-pedestrian crash in Moab

MOAB — Two people are dead after they were hit by a car Thursday on Main Street in downtown Moab, police said.

One woman and one man were crossing the street when they were hit by a southbound car, police said.

Main Street was closed from Kane Creek to 500 West as of Thursday at 9:40 p.m., police said.

The roads were expected to remain closed for several hours, and police asked the public to avoid the area.

Further details about the crash weren't immediately available.
