LOGAN — Logan police are still searching for a 5-year-old girl that went missing early Saturday morning. The girl’s uncle, who has since been located, was believed to be with the girl at the time of her disappearance.
Alex Whipple, 21, was located on foot Saturday afternoon and taken into custody, according to a Facebook post from the Logan City Police Department.
Elizabeth Shelley, the 5-year-old girl, was last seen by her mother about 2 a.m. Saturday morning in Logan when she went to bed, Logan police captain Tyson Budge said. Whipple showed up at the home when they went to bed and was missing, along with Elizabeth, shortly before 10 a.m. when the household woke up, Budge added.
Elizabeth is 3-foot-6 with curly brown, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. Police believe she was wearing either blue jeans or a teal-colored plaid skirt.
Information about where and how Whipple was found was not immediately available. Budge said Whipple is "not being that cooperative" but police found items of clothing with him that lead them to believe Elizabeth was with him.
"The unfortunate thing is that we have all the adults accounted for so obviously (the) conclusion is that she's in a lot of danger," Budge said.

Police don't believe Elizabeth could have gotten far.
"We believe she is still in the general area of her home," Budge said.
Authorities are asking any residents in the area of 300 South to 100 North and 300 West to 600 West to check for any video surveillance from their homes, specifically between 2 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, and report any suspicious activity to police.
Multiple agencies including the Cache County Sheriff's Office, Cache County Search and Rescue and the FBI, are helping with the search for Elizabeth through the night, officials said. Authorities temporarily suspended the volunteer search portion Saturday evening and said they would update the public on their Facebook page if any additional volunteers are needed.
