PEOA, Summit County — Authorities have identified a woman who died Thursday in a crash in Summit County.

Marla Lou Harris, 63, of Oakley, died in the crash, according to Summit County Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Wright. The crash took place about 8:46 a.m. Thursday near 4650 W. Browns Canyon Road, south of Rockport Reservoir in Summit County, authorities said.

Harris was heading west on Browns Canyon Road in a Toyota Camry when her car veered into oncoming traffic, crashing head-on with a Toyota Highlander, according to a news release from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

She died at the scene. The 31-year-old man who was driving the Highlander suffered critical injuries and was taken to a Salt Lake-area hospital, the release states.

Wright did not know if the man’s condition had changed as of Friday morning. He did not identify the man.

There were no other witnesses in the crash, authorities said.
