SOUTH SALT LAKE — Three people were injured after an RV and pickup truck collided, then the RV crashed into a Starbucks sign at 2100 South and State Street Monday afternoon, officials said.

Salt Lake City Fire Department officials first reported the crash just before 3 p.m. on Twitter.

Firefighters extricated one person from the RV and transported them to the hospital with injuries that were "significant" but not life-threatening, Salt Lake City Fire Department officials confirmed. One other person in the RV and one person in the truck escaped with minor injuries.

The crash closed the intersection in both directions for several hours on Monday afternoon. As of 5:30 p.m., the intersection had reopened, according to the Utah Department of Transportation website.

The cause of the crash is still unknown.
