FARMINGTON — An Ogden man was sentenced to 90 days in jail in connection with reported sexual misconduct with two teenage girls.

Tanner Paul Clark, 25, was ordered Wednesday to serve time in the Davis County Jail when he was sentenced on two counts each of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, unlawful sexual conduct with a 16 or 17-year-old and dealing in materials harmful to a minor; all third-degree felonies.

Second District Court Judge David Hamilton allowed Clark credit for one day previously served in jail, according to the sentencing order. He also will be eligible for work release after 30 days, the order states.

Other felony charges in the case, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of unlawful sexual contact with a 16 or 17-year-old and four counts of dealing in materials harmful to a minor, were dismissed as a result of a plea bargain, his attorney, Joshua S. Baron, confirmed to KSL.com.

Baron added that Clark was apologetic about the case.

"He was really proactive about trying to address this," Baron said.

Clark was arrested in July 2018 and charged in October with 14 felonies in the case, court records show. Investigators found that he sent nude images to two 17-year-old girls via Instagram, according to an arrest report.

One of the girls also told investigators that she had sex with Clark four times between May and June 2018, according to court documents. She was 17 and he was 24 at the time, the arrest report states.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Clark’s Instagram account and found at least six nude images that he sent to the girl, according to the arrest report. There also were multiple nude images of the girl on his account, the report states.

Investigators also found “evidence that supported the juvenile female's disclosure of having sexual intercourse with (Clark),” the report states.

The investigation started in June 2018 after police responded to a report of keeping the peace at Valley View Golf Course in Layton.

When police responded, Clark, who was an employee at the golf course, was being fired because someone at the golf course found out that he had been communicating with the underage girls, according to Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman.

At least one of the girls was related to another employee at the golf course, Lyman said.

In 2017, Clark was investigated by a different agency after he reportedly was communicating with a 13-year-old girl, according to Lyman. Police found no criminal wrongdoing in that case, he added.

Lyman said there was no indication that there were any other victims in the 2018 case.
