NORTH SALT LAKE — Police are searching for a man after an armed robbery at a Maverik convenience store in North Salt Lake early Thursday morning.
The man entered the Maverik at 800 W. Center St. about 2:30 a.m., pulled out a black handgun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded money from the register, as well as the clerk's wallet and phone, according to a statement from North Salt Lake police.
The man then took the money, wallet and phone and fled from the area on foot.
The robber is described by police as a white male wearing a blue hoodie, gray pants, ski goggles and a mask covering his face.
Police are asking for the public's help in locating the man. Anyone with information can call the North Salt Lake Police Department at 801-298-6000.
