1. As Senate hearing set for Kavanaugh, new accuser emerges

Just as negotiators reached agreement on an extraordinary hearing for Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser, a second allegation of sexual misconduct by the Supreme Court nominee put the White House and Senate Republicans on the defensive and fueled calls from Democrats to postpone further action on his confirmation.

2. Florence the week after: Thousands brace for more flooding

Thousands of coastal residents remained on edge Sunday, told they may need to leave their homes because rivers are still rising more than a week after Hurricane Florence slammed into the Carolinas.

3. Fire updates: Pole Creek Fire surpasses 100K acres; Some fire evacuees return home

Residents who were evacuated from the cities of Elk Ridge and Woodland Hills in Utah County were allowed to return home Saturday morning. No growth was reported Sunday for the Pole Creek Fire and the Bald Mountain Fire, burning just over 120,000 acres, or abut 188 square miles, combined.

4. Couple supporting McAdams says Love misused their images for her TV commercial

A couple who support Democratic Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams in the contentious 4th Congressional District race was distressed to see themselves in a TV commercial for his opponent, Rep. Mia Love, R-Utah.

5. Report: More Utah youth getting HPV vaccine for cancer prevention

New federal data indicates the proportion of Utah teenagers protected by a cancer prevention HPV vaccine increased by about 7 percentage points in 2017, but the state still ranks near the bottom nationwide. The increase was significant for Utah boys ages 13 to 17, whose estimated HPV coverage rate jumped to 32.9 percent in 2017 compared to 20.3 percent the year before.

1. Such special teams: 3 takeaways as No. 25 BYU moves to 3-1 with win over McNeese

It wasn’t always pretty (did you see that first quarter?).

But No. 25 BYU improved to 3-1 on the season with a 30-3 win over FCS foe McNeese State at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

2. Love, Utah State knock off Air Force in wild affair

The Falcons scored 18 unanswered points of their own to make it a 35-32 game with 13 minutes remaining to put everyone at Maverik Stadium on the edge of their chairs.

Utah State running back Gerold Bright, though, put the nail in the coffin with a 70-yard touchdown scamper with 6:52 to play to make it 42-32.

3. Freshman Davis leads Weber State past N. Colorado 45-28

Weber State finished with a season-high 410 yards, including a career-high 218 yards on 30 carries from running back Josh Davis, who also scored two touchdowns.

4. Gressel, Villalba help Atlanta United beat Real Salt Lake

Julian Gressel had a goal and an assist to help Atlanta United beat Real Salt Lake 2-0 on Saturday night.

5. Top-ranked BYU women's volleyball keeps rolling, sweeps Saint Mary's

Roni Jones-Perry put down a match-high 12 kills with just one error, and Madelyn Robinson and McKenna Miller added six kills apiece to lift the top-ranked Cougars to a 25-10, 25-14, 25-13 sweep of Saint Mary’s to keep its undefeated season alive Saturday afternoon in the Smith Fieldhouse.
