SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say an armed man was fatally shot after sheriff's deputies in Spokane Valley, Washington, responded to reports of gunfire at a business park.
Spokane Valley police say the person killed on Friday morning was the only person injured in the incident.
The person shot has not been identified.
Police say he was banging on the windows of a business and trying to gain entry.
Spokane County Sheriff's spokesman Mark Gregory says two deputies arrived at the active shooter situation and fired at the man.
Gregory says the suspect made it back to his vehicle and attempted to drive away, but crashed into a tree.
