Patriots rally past Eagles...Garoppolo leads Niners’ comeback
UNDATED (AP) — Tom Brady threw for 216 yards on Sunday, but wide receiver Julian Edelman provided the biggest pass for the New England Patriots as they bounced back from their only loss of the season.
Edelman hit Phillip Dorsett for a go-ahead, 15-yard touchdown early in the third quarter of the Pats’ 17-10 comeback over the Eagles in Philadelphia. It was his second career TD pass and first since a playoff victory over the Ravens in January 2015.
New England fell behind 10-0 early in the second quarter before Nick Folk hit three field goals to get the Patriots within 10-9 at halftime. The Pats didn't cross midfield until Brady connected with Benjamin Watson for 22 yards to the Eagles 31 near the midpoint of the second quarter.
Carson Wentz tossed a 5-yard TD pass to Dallas Goedert to give the Eagles a 10-point cushion before the Pats improved to 9-1.
The Eagles fell to 5-5 and dropped one game behind Dallas for the NFC East lead.
Elsewhere in Week 11 of the NFL’s 100th season:
— Jimmy Garoppolo’s (gah-RAH’-pah-lohz) fourth TD pass of the day was a go-ahead, 25-yard scoring toss to Jeff Wilson with 31 seconds left in the 49ers’ 36-26 victory against the Cardinals. Garoppolo had 425 yards passing but also threw two interceptions deep in Arizona territory that nearly doomed San Francisco. The 9-1 Niners trailed 16-0 before pulling off their largest comeback win since 2011 against the Eagles.
— Lamar Jackson threw four touchdown passes and ran for 86 yards as part of the Ravens’ sixth straight win, 41-7 over the Texans. Jackson threw for three touchdowns in the third quarter and followed with his most impressive play of the day: a 39-yard run in which he broke six tackles while weaving through the Houston secondary. Gus Edwards scored on a 63-yard run with 4:10 left to cap the scoring for the 8-2 Ravens. The Texans dropped to 6-4.
— Drew Brees (breez) threw for 228 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Saints to a 34-17 victory over the Buccaneers. NFL receptions leader Michael Thomas had a 16-yard scoring grab and became the first player in league history with 90-plus catches through the first 10 games of a season. Safety Marcus Williams returned the third of New Orleans’ four interceptions 55 yards for a touchdown to cap the scoring with just over five minutes remaining.
— The Vikings erased a 20-0 halftime deficit by scoring touchdowns on each of their four possessions of the second half to beat the Broncos, 27-23. Kirk Cousins went 29 for 35 for 319 yards and three scores for the 8-3 Vikings, who went ahead on Kyle Rudolph’s 32-yard scoring grab with 6:10 remaining. Denver got to the Minnesota 4 with 10 seconds left before Brandon Allen’s next three throws fell incomplete.
— The Cowboys are 6-4 after Dak Prescott threw for 444 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-27 win at Detroit. Michael Gallup had nine catches for 148 yards, and Randall Cobb made four receptions for 115 yards and a TD. Ezekiel Elliott managed just 45 yards rushing against the 3-6-1 Lions, but he also ran for a TD and had a scoring reception to help Dallas win for the third time in four games.
— The Colts coasted to a 33-13 win over the Jaguars as Jacoby Brissett threw one touchdown pass and ran for another score. Indianapolis also had a pair of 100-yard rushers as Jonathan Williams had 13 carries for 106 yards, while Marlon Mack added 109 with a touchdown before leaving with a hand injury in the third quarter. Nick Foles returned to the Jacksonville lineup and threw for a touchdown on the Jags’ second series before they fell to 4-6.
— Josh Allen tied a career high with three touchdown passes and ran for another score in the Bills’ 37-20 downing of the Dolphins. Allen’s TD tosses covered 40 and 9 yards to John Brown, and 23 yards to Dawson Knox. The 7-3 Bills totaled a season-high seven sacks and allowed only 23 yards rushing. Miami fell to 2-8.
— Oakland and Kansas City share the AFC West lead at 6-4 after Derek Carr passed for 292 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders’ 17-10 downing of the winless Bengals. Josh Jacobs had his fourth 100-yard game in the last six weeks, finishing with 112 on 23 carries. Maxx Crosby had a team rookie-record four sacks as the Raiders harassed Bengals rookie quarterback Ryan Finley in Oakland’s third straight win.
— Kenjon Barner returned a punt 78 yards for a touchdown and the Falcons followed last Sunday’s win at New Orleans by silencing the Panthers, 29-3. The 3-7 Falcons intercepted Kyle Allen four times and sacked him five times while dropping Carolina to 5-5. Matt Ryan passed for 311 yards and tossed a 6-yard TD pass to Calvin Ridley, who finished with eight receptions for 143 yards.
— Sam Darnold outplayed Dwyane Haskins in the Jets’ second straight win, 34-17 over the Redskins. Darnold was 19 of 30 passing for 293 yards, including scoring strikes to Daniel Brown, Robby Anderson, Ryan Griffin and Jamison Crowder. Jamal Adams had three of the Jets’ six sacks of Haskins, who was 19 of 35 passing for 214 yards and two scores that ended the Skins’ team-record touchdown drought at 16 quarters. The 3-7 Jets dropped Washington to 1-9.

Garrett to appeal suspension
UNDATED (AP) — A person familiar with the meeting says suspended Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett will have his appeal heard by the NFL early this week.
Garrett was suspended indefinitely by the league on Friday, hours after he swung a helmet and hit Pittsburgh quarterback Mason Rudolph in the head. Per the collective bargaining agreement, Garrett’s appeal must take place before Cleveland’s next game.

Kyle Busch wins NASCAR Cup for second time
HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) — Kyle Busch has emerged from the Joe Gibbs Racing juggernaut as NASCAR’s latest champion, winning his second title after teammates Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. were slowed by pit-road gaffes.
Busch won the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway to snap a 21-race losing streak and beat Hamlin, Truex and rival Kevin Harvick for the Cup. Busch joined seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson as the only active drivers with multiple titles.
Busch is the 16th driver in NASCAR history to win multiple championships, and one of only five to win titles in both the Cup Series and the second-tier Xfinity Series.
Truex dominated early but fell a lap back after his crew put tires on the wrong side of his Toyota. Hamlin fell out of contention when a crew member placed a large piece of tape across the front of his car, causing his engine to overheat leading to an unscheduled pit stop.
Truex recovered to finish second, but Hamlin didn’t have enough time to overcome the miscue and was a disappointing 10th.
Harvick never seemed to be a solid contender despite his fourth-place finish.

Kings end Celtics’ streak
UNDATED (AP) — The Sacramento Kings have put an end to the Boston Celtics’ 10-game winning streak.
Richaun Holmes hit two free throws with 13.3 seconds remaining to give Sacramento the lead in a 100-99 triumph over the Celts. Marcus Smart had a chance to win it for Boston, but his runner in the lane hung on the rim before trickling off as the buzzer sounded.
Buddy Hield (heeld) scored a season-high 35 points for the Kings, who entered the game just 4-7 before handing Boston its first loss since opening night.
Jaylen Brown scored 18 points and Kemba Walker had 15 for the Celtics.

— Jamal Murray shot 7-for-12 from beyond the arc while pouring in a season-best 39 points in the Nuggets’ highest scoring game of the season, a 131-114 rout of the Grizzlies. Paul Millsap had 23 points and Juancho Hernangomez (WAHN’-choh hur-nahn-GOH’-mehz) finished with 15 as Denver won for the sixth time in its last seven games.
— Tobias Harris finished with 27 points and the 76ers shot 67% in the first half of a 114-95 pounding of the Cavaliers. Harris was 12 of 14 from the field in helping Philadelphia win for just the third time in eight games since a 5-0 start. Ben Simmons had 10 points and 11 assists for the Sixers.
— J.J. Redick (REH’-dik) drained his sixth 3-pointer of the game from the left corner with 1:09 left to help the Pelicans secure a 108-100 triumph over the Warriors. Redick scored 26 points and Jrue Holiday flirted with a triple-double before settling for 22 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. Golden State dropped its seventh in a row despite Eric Paschall’s (PAS’-kulz) game-high 30 points.
— Nikola Vucevic had 30 points and 17 rebounds as the Magic held off the Wizards, 125-121. Evan Fournier added 25 points and nine assists, while Markelle Fultz furnished 19 points in Orlando’s fourth win in five games. Bradley Beal had 34 points and eight assists for Washington, which has dropped four of its last five.
T25 MEN’S BASKETBALL-SCHEDULE
Cardinals shoot lights out again
UNDATED (AP) — Fourth-ranked Louisville continued its hot shooting on Sunday while improving to 4-0.
Jordan Nwora scored 17 points in just 21 minutes as the Cardinals crushed North Carolina Central, 87-58. Steven Enoch chipped in 15 points on 7 of 9 from the field for the Cards, who shot 66.7% after entering the game ranked ninth in the country at 54.1%.
Louisville never trailed in the contest and used a 19-4 run over the last 5:41 of the first half to pull away.
Also on Sunday’s top-25 men’s basketball schedule:
— Myles Powell scored 26 points and Sandro Mamukelashvili added 17 in No. 12 Seton Hall’s 83-66 victory over Saint Louis. Quincy McKnight added 12 points and the 3-1 Pirates rebounded from Thursday’s 76-73 loss to No.3 Michigan State by opening this game on an 18-3 run.
— Payton Pritchard scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead No. 14 Oregon to a ragged 67-47 victory over Texas Arlington. The game was tied at 16 until the Ducks scored 13 consecutive points.
— Christian Vital scored 15 points, hit two free throws with 17 seconds left and made a key steal at the end of UConn’s 62-59 upset of No. 15 Florida. Tyler Polley also scored 15 points and Josh Carlton added 13 as the Huskies dropped the sputtering Gators to 2-2.
— Jordan Ford scored 21 points and Malik Fitts added 12 to carry No. 18 Saint Mary to a 79-48 pounding of Cal Poly. Matthias Tass had six points for Saint Mary’s, all during an 31-4 run that closed out the first half.
— Zeke Nnaji did not miss a shot for the second straight game while scoring 19 points in 19th-ranked Arizona’s 83-52 clobbering of New Mexico State. Nnaji made all seven of his shots after going 8 for 8 against San Jose State.
NHL-SCHEDULE
Kane, Hawks stay hot
UNDATED (AP) — Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks have continued their hot streaks.
Kane scored for the sixth straight game and the Blackhawks improved to 6-1-1 in their last eight games by dumping the Buffalo Sabres, 4-1. Kane has eight goals and nine assists during a nine-game point streak that has pushed him into the NHL’s top 10 scoring leaders.
Kirby Dach scored twice and Corey Crawford stopped 33 shots as Chicago handed the Sabres their seventh loss in eight games.
In the NHL’s other Sunday game:
— William Karlsson registered his third straight multi-point game by providing two goals and an assist in the Golden Knights’ 6-0 rout of the Flames. Nate Schmidt had four assists and Marc-Andre Fleury recorded his 58th career shutout as Vegas ended a five-game losing streak.

Georgia moves past Alabama, LSU still No. 1
UNDATED (AP) — The top three teams remain the same in the newest Associated Press college football poll, but Georgia has climbed past Alabama for the fourth spot.
The Bulldogs moved up with their 21-14 win at Auburn, hours after the Crimson Tide lost star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (TOO'-ah tuhng-ah-vy-LOH'-ah) to a season-ending hip dislocation.
Top-ranked LSU picked up 54 of 65 first-place votes to stay ahead of No. 2 Ohio State and defending-champion Clemson.
The fifth-ranked Tide are followed by Oregon, Utah, Oklahoma, Penn State and Florida.
PGA-MAYAKOBA CLASSIC
Final round suspended
PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico (AP) — Brendon Todd and Vaughn Taylor were tied for the lead with four holes remaining when the final round of the rain-delayed Mayakoba Golf Classic was suspended because of darkness.
Todd shot a 6-under 65 on Sunday morning to take a one-shot lead as he seeks his second victory in three weekends.
Todd and Taylor are 20 under, one ahead of Harris English and Carlos Ortiz.
F1-BRAZILIAN GP
Verstappen wins Brazilian GP
SAO PAULO (AP) — Red Bull’s Max Verstappen won Formula One’s Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday for his eighth career victory.
Verstappen controlled much of the race at Interlagos, which saw a dramatic late collision between Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc when they fought for the fourth position. Both failed to finish.
Toro Rosso’s Pierre Gasly got his first F1 podium after finishing second ahead of six-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton.
