Give Your Summer a Fresh Twist at Blue Lemon’s Free Party
Saturday, July 21 in Sandy
to benefit Utah Adoption Exchange

Blue Lemon Restaurants is giving summer a fresh twist by hosting a party on Saturday July 21, in its Sandy location at 11372 State Street. There will be healthy, fun activities throughout the day starting 8 a.m. with a bike ride in partnership with Scheel’s, Twist and Tone Yoga featuring TV personality Amanda Jones at 9 a.m., and a cooking demo at 10:15 a.m. by Blue Lemon’s Executive Chef Todd Leonard. Kids can enjoy face painting, a climbing wall and see pets available for adoption through the Utah Humane Society and more. There will be live music in the afternoon by Nick Whitesides and free tastings, a prize drawing for a Ladies’ Lunch and special offers throughout the day. A percentage of all purchases made that day at the Sandy location will benefit the Utah Adoption Exchange. When Lychelle and Aaron Day founded their first Blue Lemon restaurant in Highland, Utah, they wanted to create a unique fast-casual restaurant with fresh, gourmet, locally-sourced, organic and natural foods for their family and friends. They called it food with a twist. Now 10 years later the successful duo is evolving their brand to say, don’t just eat with a twist, live with a twist! “We now have six restaurants in Utah with a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere and we realized they could serve as community gathering places for so much more than good food,” said Lychelle Day, co-owner. “That’s why we’re evolving our brand to inspire and empower people who live in our neighborhoods to live life with a twist. Try something new. Get active and use Blue Lemon as a place to meet after you go to the gym or go for a walk with your friends, to schedule luncheons and to gather with family and friends.” Informal gatherings are encouraged and more formal events that require catering or special arrangements can be made by calling 801-997-9933. Blue Lemon in return will be rolling out ongoing special events in all of its locations including Farmington, Cottonwood Heights, City Creek, Ogden, Sandy and Highland. Yoga classes [RG1] in partnership with Athleta SLC are being scheduled throughout the summer. Blue Lemon is also welcoming back talented Chef Todd Leonard, who developed the first menu for the local company. Chef Todd has developed 15 new permanent and seasonal menu items including a Grilled Summer Street Corn as a starter, Warm Potato Salad and Asparagus with Blue Cheese and Pecans for sides, and six new entrees featuring rice bowls, Summer BBQ Grilled Turkey, Lemon Herb Alfredo, Seafood Lemon Pepper Pappardelle, and a Twisted Burger to name a few. He will demonstrate how to make the Warm Potato Salad and a salad vinaigrette at the July 21 party.
