SALT LAKE CITY — With Thanksgiving over, the gift-giving season is now in full swing.

Coming up with gifts for friends, family members, co-workers and even neighbors can be a difficult task. Every year, plates full of cookies, fudge, brownies, chocolates and more seem to make their way onto our tables and into our tummies throughout the month of December. And while sweet treats aren't a bad thing, we may tend to become oversaturated with them in the weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year's.

Getting a little something other than an overindulgent treat from friends or neighbors could be a welcome change. To help, I’ve rounded up 10 healthier holiday food gifts in a jar. Mason jars are the perfect container for food gifts — they're cute, portable, freezer friendly, can be heated, are reusable and come in different sizes and colors. The possibilities really are endless of what you can put in them.

From sweet — but not overly so — to savory, there is sure to be a gift below for the healthy foodie in your life.
