THE OLD DAYS — At 35 years old, I am a young buck to people 50 and above.

I am a peer to those aged 28 to 45. To those 28 to 20, I'm experienced and wise. To those 20 and younger, I'm ancient.

I always thought that was weird because 35 is pretty young, but after watching this video, I now get it. I am ancient to those kids.

Some parents wanted to give teenagers some challenges, and thankfully, this one was caught on camera and is amazing and frustrating. Two 17-years-olds were given four minutes to dial one phone number on a rotary phone. Easy enough task for those of us who have done it before, but these kids were completely lost.

The boys struggle and start experimenting, but they fail over and over again. I have no doubt these two teens know how to purchase round-trip tickets to Dubai or edit a short film on their phones, but dialing a number on a rotary phone is like trying to get out of an escape room.

Sunday's Have You Seen This?

For those of you who know how to use a rotary phone, you'll find yourself screaming at the screen trying to understand out how they can't figure this out. Before watching the video, I thought using one of these phones was pretty much common sense, but I was wrong.

When I showed the video to my editor, she said she could relate because she'd never used one. Then I showed some others younger than me, and they also had no idea how to use one of these relics. So, yeah, I'm ancient to some folks, which makes me sad.

So, watch the video, feel old and let's be grateful how far phones have come in the past 40 years.
